PMOC and AIR CONDITIONING

PMOC – which is the maintenance, operation and control plan.

  The PMOC is a document established by the Ministry of Health that reflects the requirements of Ordinance MS nº 3.523/98. It contains the rules on the cleaning, conservation and maintenance processes of HVAC systems, pointing out basic rules for checking cleaning, removing waste and maintaining equipment, in order to ensure air quality and prevent risks to the health of individuals that circulate there.

  All buildings for public and collective use that have artificially conditioned indoor air environments must have a Maintenance, Operation and Control Plan (PMOC) for the respective air conditioning systems, aiming at the elimination or minimization of potential risks to the health of the occupants, and the lack of it can generate a fine for companies ranging from BRL 2,000 to BRL 1.5 million, depending on the size of the company. In addition to medical licenses and lawsuits that can be filed by people who have been contaminated by poor air quality inside the company. This Law also applies to climate-controlled environments of restricted use, such as those in production, laboratory, hospital and other processes, which must comply with specific regulations.

Good planning also has several advantages, such as:

  • Increased efficiency of HVAC equipment;

  • Decrease in expenses with unnecessary maintenance;

  • Increased lifetime of assets;

  • Cost reduction for the company;

  • Improved air quality in the environment.

How PMOC works:

   Detailed registration of all assets;
   Analysis of each equipment;
   PMOC planning and implementation;
   Execution of planned activities;
   Monitoring of results.

All in accordance with the ABNT and NRs standards.
